At
the end of this presentation, the participant should be able to:

To understand the epidemiology
and economic issues surrounding the treatment of schizophrenia.

To discuss the morbidity and
mortality rates associated with schizophrenia.

To compare and contrast the
characteristics of the conventional and atypical antipsychotic agents.
-
To understand the receptor
profiles of the atypical antipsychotic agents.
- To
discuss treatment related issues for the atypical antipsychotics
including QTc prolongation, weight gain, and serum prolactin levels.
