Goals The goal of this presentation is to familiarize the participant with commonly used rave drugs,  potentially serious adverse effects and the treatment of those major adverse effects.  The presentation will also discuss limitations in laboratory detection of rave drugs.
Objectives

At the end of this presentation, the participant should be able to:

  1. List commonly  used rave drugs.
  2. State the proper treatment of GHB withdrawal, recognize important clinical features and current treatment.
  3. State factors that affect the ability to detect many rave drugs in intoxicated patients.
  4. List major toxic effects of ketamine, GHB and MDMA.
  5. Recognize potential toxic effects from new designer drugs.
