Goal To understand the practical clinical and cost  implications of anemia as a disease state.
Objectives

Upon completion of the program the participant should be able to:

  1. Understand the pharmacoeconomic terminology used in discussing cost and quality of life implications of disease and treatment.
  2. Review the various clinical manifestations of anemia and its resultant cost and quality of life implications on healthcare systems and patients.
  3. Understand the role of treatment of anemia with pharmacologic agents in reversing the negative ramifications of the disease.
  4. Compare and contrast available biological agents for the treatment of anemia .

An AES certificate for 1.0 hour of accredited continuing education will be awarded the evening of the program for California pharmacists completing the program.  (Note:  AES does not cover other states)
