| Goals & Objectives |
Upon completion of the program
the participant should be able to:
- Review the clinical pharmacology of IV and oral
proton pump Inhibitors (PPI's).
- Review the epidemiology and etiology of upper
gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB).
- Consider the management options for UGIB.
- Evaluate the role of antisecretory therapy in the
treatment of patients with UGIB.
- Comprehend the current clinical data supporting
the indications for IV PPI in the hospitalized patient and review
techniques that facilitate usage consistent with the current medical
literature.
