Upon completion of the program the participant should be able to:
This FREE one-hour CE training program includes:
- Strategies for pharmacies and pharmacists to be youth-friendly and culturally competent in serving youth on reproductive and sexual health topics (including advice from youth themselves)
- Minors’ rights and confidentiality
- Coverage and insurance issues impacting youth access to health services
- Overview of social networking strategies youth use (e.g.,YouTube.com and MySpace.com) and opportunities around reproductive health
- 0.1 CEU CAPE Accreditation (1 hour live CE)An Interdisciplinary Approach
Upon completion of this training program, the pharmacist will be able to…
- Attract, serve and retain teen patients in the pharmacy setting
- Identify developmental characteristics specific to different teenage years
- Communicate effectively with and provide confidential services to teens about sensitive health topics
- Identify when a report of child abuse or sexual activity of minors must be made
- List and explain the benefits of both major state-funded health insurance for youth
- Develop policies and procedures for providing culturally-appropriate youth-friendly pharmacy/health care services
