Title "Delivering Youth-Friendly Pharmacy Care"

Goals & Objectives

Upon completion of the program the participant should be able to:

    This FREE one-hour CE training program includes:
  1. Strategies for pharmacies and pharmacists to be youth-friendly and culturally competent in serving youth on reproductive and sexual health topics (including advice from youth themselves)
  2. Minors’ rights and confidentiality
  3. Coverage and insurance issues impacting youth access to health services
  4. Overview of social networking strategies youth use (e.g.,YouTube.com and MySpace.com) and opportunities around reproductive health
  5. 0.1 CEU CAPE Accreditation (1 hour live CE)An Interdisciplinary Approach
    Upon completion of this training program, the pharmacist will be able to…
  1. Attract, serve and retain teen patients in the pharmacy setting
  2. Identify developmental characteristics specific to different teenage years
  3. Communicate effectively with and provide confidential services to teens about sensitive health topics
  4. Identify when a report of child abuse or sexual activity of minors must be made
  5. List and explain the benefits of both major state-funded health insurance for youth
  6. Develop policies and procedures for providing culturally-appropriate youth-friendly pharmacy/health care services
