Biographical Background: Jonathan P. Lacro, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCPP
Dr.
Jonathan P. Lacro is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Psychiatry at the VA San
Diego Healthcare System in (VASDHCS) San Diego and Associate Clinical Professor
of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
Dr. Lacro also holds faculty appointments with the University of the
Pacific and University of Southern California Schools of Pharmacy.
After earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of the
Pacific School of Pharmacy, he completed a one-year residency in clinical
pharmacy at the VASDHCS and a Fellowship in Geriatric Psychopharmacology at
VASDHCS and UCSD. He is board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist and as a
psychiatric pharmacist.
Dr. Lacro is a co-investigator of the UCSD/VASDHCS Geriatric Psychiatry Interventions Research Center and has received a National Institute of Mental Health Supplemental Grant for Minority Research Investigators as well as a FIRST Award. His research and practice interests are in the areas of geriatric psychopharmacology, schizophrenia, other psychotic disorders of late-life, antipsychotic therapy and medication adherence. Dr. Lacro has coauthored a number of articles that have appeared in peer-reviewed journals and has made presentations at annual meetings of the American Psychiatric Association, the Society for Biological Psychiatry and the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry.
